April 2, 2010

It sounds so distant from April 2 2007. The day our lives changed forever. Yes, our babies are 3 YEARS old today!
I say "our lives" because it is not just Ben and I that are affected and impacted by these two individuals on a daily/ hourly basis. Between Krissy (Day Care), grandparents, numerous play dates with great friends, and themselves, Lexie and Deegan live very happy, and busy lives. Similar to the lives of their parents. :-)
On these day we really thank our God for blessing us with these wonderful children, and we are so happy and amazed by what they have become. Born together, pretty much always together, yet Lexie and Deegan are so very unique.
They suprise us everyday with great behavior, attitude and friendship. Specifically Ben and I love to hear how well they are doing in swim lesson, or the praises they get for behaving well at school/ day care. Most recently we were thrilled to hear that Lexie is really getting into "worship" at church, and working once a month we have been able to bear witness to her wonderful singing and dancing!
I know puzzles can be simple things, but we are all in "awe" over Deegan's ability and skill at "puzzles" I think it has a lot to do with the amount of time he will spend on them putting them together all by himself, taking them apart, and repeating. Being a teacher I know that a 3 year old BOY for that matter can not possibly have an attention span for anything...for that LONG of a time period!
They fight, but they are learning to follow directions and rules. If something is fun or cool they always want to make sure the other (twin) is included and knows about it!
Lexie wants to do "girl things", and Deegan he's all "boy"! They both love love to READ, and have many books memorized! Some books they read to mommy are: "If you give a cat a cupcake", "yummy yucky", "Quiet Loud", "Big Little", and a couple others!
They love their prayer sticks, and they want "all four" of us at all times to be a part of "bedtime prayer"! ANd that's our prayer!
We feel so very blessed and we hope that Lexie and Deegan learn to love and thank their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all that he has done, and all that he will do!

We are in love with "the now" and can not imagine what the future has for us!
